2010 Session Completed!
I have been back working at Lowndes High for a week and am glad to be back home seven days a week again enjoying my family. The list of bills and resolutions which passed during the last week of session is available for download below.

I would like to give a shoutout to the following great locals:
- All who have participated in the recent Relays for Life --may it be coordinator, team captain, team walker, fund raiser, publicizer, cancer survivor, or anyone else involved. Much financial support has been raised to fight this horrible disease.
- Cathy Parker, the 2010 Lowndes County Schools Distinguished Alumnus Award Winner. Welcome to the club!
- Our community and region in regards to the near completion of the Valdosta-Lowndes Crime Lab. Local law enforcement officers will be better equipped to facilitate testing in the very near future. Thank you to all who have been involved in getting our crime lab ready for use.
The 2010 legislative session has now come to a close and bills will not be voted on again until January 2011. However, if you have thoughts regarding potential legislation I am always eager to hear your concerns. Please feel free to email or call me with any questions or comments that you might have regarding our state.

Women's Safety Forum Safety Tips
The Women's Safety Forum was a overwhelming success, and I was glad to be a part of what I hope was a way to empower women in our community. Commander Eugene Bell from the Valdosta Police Department shared these great tips with those in attendence, and you can now download a copy of them in PDF format here.
