My Goals in the General Assembly
As a legislator, I hope to address such issues as drop out rates, class sizes, expansion of Georgia’s Pre-K program, technology in classrooms, access to foreign language instruction, access to quality and affordable healthcare, economic development opportunities, and measures to support law enforcement and corrections officers.

I Want to Hear from You!
This year in the Assembly we'll be working on issues will affect people like you. I want to hear your opinions on what you think should be our priorities. Although I certainly want to hear about anything you want to share, there are a few issues I'm very interested in hearing from you about.

Should the state seat belt law be changed to require seat belts for all drivers, including those in pickup trucks?

What are you experiences with trauma care in South Georgia?

What is your take on the one cent Transportation-SPLOST?

Committees
In the General Assembly, legislation orginates in a standing committee. Presently I am a member of the Appropriations, Education, Higher Education, and the new Special Committee on Small Business Development and Jobs Creation. I serve as Secretary of the Higher Education committee.
